5 TIPS TO BREAK THROUGH BLOGGER’S BLOCK

Ready to start your blog or vlog, but have ‘bloggers block?” Here are five topics that are sure to get your creative juices flowing.

1)   Introduce yourself

Yes, your prospective patients have seen your CV, and before-and-after photos on your website, but use your blog or vlog to tell them something unique about you or your practice. What is your signature procedure? Patient care philosophy? Why did you decide to specialize in plastic surgery or dermatology in the first place? Why do you love what you do? A blog is the perfect way to share this sort of information, and patients love the personal touch.

2)   For all seasons

Tell your readers which procedures are most desired during winter, spring, summer and fall and why. For example, spring is a time of renewal, so it’s ideal for body treatments to get prepared for bikini season, and skin resurfacing to slough away the outer layer of dead cells left over from winter.

3)   Some like it hot

What’s trending in pop culture? Is it #selfie-inspired plastic surgery? The new E! plastic surgery reality TV show Botched? Piggy back on these trends and tie them back tie your practice or outlook. For example, Botched highlights the need for revision plastic surgery. Do you do revision work? If so, what have you learned from it? Grab readers attention with the pop culture reference and then make it your own.

4)   What’s new?

Did you buy a new laser? Take an awesome course? Open a satellite location? Bring on a new doctor or staff member? Offering a new FDA cleared dermal fillers? Use your blog or vlog to tell readers all about what is happening in your practice that may be of interest to them.

5)   Sweet charity

Tell readers about the pro bono work you do. Describe a recent medical mission or reconstructive surgical case, and share why you choose to lend your support to an organization or cause that you are passionate about.
