THE ART OF THE BLOG

Establishing a blog can be an important and effective component of your marketing strategy. Blogging allows you to express your opinions and use your brand voice to get key messages across to your core audience. It is an essential form of content development that is unique to your brand.

Blog consistently to maintain an audience, like weekly or bi-weekly or monthly at a bare minimum. Write about things that matter to your audience. For example, think about topics that they may have questions about or are interested in learning more about. Position your blog as informative and educational and keep it interesting, rather than to just use this forum purely for self-promotion. Before you blog, consider how the content can enhance your audience’s lives in some way to make it meaningful.

Got writer’s block and don’t know what to blog about?

5 tips for better blogging:

  1. Come up with a list of questions you are frequently asked by patients and clients.
  2. Google other clinics or industry sources to see what they are writing about.
  3. Tap into a current topic of interest or timely news story and offer your opinion.
  4. Use a themed blog format, such as ‘5 Ways to Get (fill in the blank)’ or ‘Did you know?’ or ‘4 Tips for Your Best Skin Ever’
  5. Assign a staff member to maintain a list of timely topics so you will never be stuck for something to blog about.

Keep the tone upbeat and personal so no one else can copy your content and use it for their own. It should be unique to your voice and be on brand.

Add a visual to each blog post in the form of a photo, graphic, chart, GIF, meme, or video. These additions will help your blog posts to stand out. Categorize your posts by topics, such as Acne, Skin Tightening, Facial Fillers, Skincare, Breast Implants, etc. so readers will know where to go first for the information they are seeking.

Always include keyword rich content so your blogs can get found by Google searches. And lastly, add a call to action. What do you want readers to do after going to the blog post? Include share buttons so they can post on their own social channels, plus links to schedule, buy, ask a question, etc.

Blogging can go far to help you attract more clients and patients, expand your brand awareness, and build trust with them.
